Prep Your Credit / Debit Cards For International Use
If your credit cards and debit cards have only been used in your local home town then all of a sudden charges start appearing in Bangkok one week then Goa another, those cards may literally stop working – for your security. It varies from bank to bank but many will automatically place a hold on the usability of your debit or credit card. Its a rather small inconvenience and maybe a bit embarrassing but a pain in the ass nonetheless. Just call your financial institutions (banks) prior to departure and tell them your backpacking and they will ease off the international blocking.
