Explore British Columbia & Appreciate Nature

From bug zoos, to exotic classical gardens, British Columbia’s nature scene has it all. Guiding you through a few of its cities, here are just some of the natural attractions British Columbia has to offer.

Vancouver

Vancouver

We’ll start with a place that is the most well-known city in British Columbia and the third largest metropolitan area in Canada. Frequently ranked as one of the best – if not the best – city to live in, Vancouver is also a gem of a holiday destination.

There are several brilliant different places to visit and attractions to see in Vancouver, and Granville Island is most definitely one. The island, which hosts a pleasant public market, boasts a plethora of seafood, breads and other types of fresh produce that will leave you either overspending or soon returning.

With gorgeously narrow and picturesque lanes holding inimitable shops, Granville Island is also a photographer’s paradise.

Speaking of a photographer’s paradise, the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden provides visitors with an exciting step back in time to the 15th Century. The first traditional Chinese garden built outside of China, the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classic Chinese Garden is a real must-see. Breathtaking pavilions and beautiful high white walls mean you won’t be able to put your camera back into your pocket, without seeing something new that’s photo-worthy.

Kelowna

Kelowna

Kelowna

From skiing at the Big White resort to the “gorgeous-in-the-summer” Okanagan Lake, Kelowna is a superb holiday destination. Since it’s located in the heart of British Columbia’s wine country, you will also not be too surprised to hear people say the wine is unforgettable here and a major tourist attraction.

We’ll begin with Okanogan Lake, which not only offers scenic beauty but a range of water sports, from paragliding to parasailing. You probably won’t spot the mythic Ogopogo who allegedly inhabits the lake, however you will have a top time here,

Myra Canyon Park is another lovely place to visit, hosting fantastic trestles – great for cycling – that will allow you to truly appreciate the area.

Hotels in Kelowna aren’t too expensive, while the food delicious.

If ever you wanted an explanation for why British Columbia is such a delightful place to really appreciate nature’s beauties, then a visit to Victoria should do the trick. Appropriately nicknamed the Garden City for its garden space and Butchart Gardens, Victoria is a destination tailored for honeymoons, romance and serenity.

Beacon Hill Park is a delightful green space in Victoria. With an array of beautiful flowers, it is the perfect place for a stroll – particularly a romantic one. It also holds some fantastic and fun places for kids too.

On the matter of places that will excite and intrigue kids, the Victoria Bug Zoo is a quirky and interesting place to visit. This amazing miniature zoo dedicated to insects and spiders holds a plethora of different species, from glow-in-the-dark scorpions to hairy tarantulas. In-the-know bug guides will take you around the place and give you a safe handling experience, if you’re not too scared.
