6 Most Hated Airports In The World

6 Most Hated Airports In The World

There can be nothing worse than arriving at the airport for an important flight and running into problems before you even check into your flight. What makes matters worse is that it is the only airport in your vicinity so you are forced to use this place every time you wish to get away.

There are some airports that run fairly well, but are still criticized beyond belief by the passengers. There is a difference between terrible airports and ones that are despised.

Here we look at the airports that people love to hate!

Sao Paulo-Guarulhos International, Sao Paulo, Brazil

This airport has one of the worst reputations when it comes to flight delays, the statistics show that only forty one per cent of flights actually leave on time! The Brazilian culture tends to embrace the ‘manana’ approach to timekeeping and this hub certainly fits into this ethos nicely. To add insult to injury the catering set up is also sub-standard, you will be paying Harrods prices for service station quality snacks well past their sell by dates.

John F. Kennedy International, New York, United States

Worst Airports in The World: JFK International Airport

This is one of the busiest airports in the world, over twenty one million passengers pass through its gates every year. You might think that such a busy airport would need to run like clockwork. Sadly the airport is in dire need of a facelift and that hasn’t happened since Beatlemania hit New York in the swinging sixties.

Jomo Kenyatta International, Nairobi, Kenya

In terms of African airports, this one is not so bad, but when you consider that it is a busy international airport then it really is shocking. The airport is stuck in the 1950’s and considering the huge amount of passengers passing through its gates, this is very poor indeed. If you enjoy cramped spaces, long lines and terrible delays, then this is the airport for you.

Ninoy Aquino International, Manila, Philippines

This airport actually won the dubious distinction of “Worst in The World” ribbon this year. This was probably something to do with the collapsed ceiling in terminal one and maybe the filthy restrooms sealed its fate for the wooden spoon. You have to see the check in procedures to believe them because it is similar to a combination of the Olympic Games and a drunken trolley dash.

London Heathrow, London, England

Heathrow has five terminals and to be honest they have all come under fire when it comes to efficiency and order. As the world’s third busiest airport, you would expect the co-ordinators to be used to dealing with massive amounts of incoming and outgoing passengers. Sadly this is not the case, as the broken luggage carousels and multitude of cancelled flights pays testament to.

Paris-Charles de Gaulle, Paris, France

Worst Airports in The World: Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport

Probably the most hated airport on the planet and for good reason. The circular layout of the airport confuses passengers before they have the chance to check in for the flights. The washrooms are amongst the dirtiest around and would not look out of place in a downtown bar in Paris’s poorest districts. The worst part about this sub-standard experience is the ridiculous indifference to any complaints made to the airport staff.
