A flashpacker is a type of backpacker – without a set budget and typically packed with gadgets and electronics to assist in travel or for use as a working nomad. Flashpackers are often older with much more disposable income and almost always have extensive experience as a backpacker.

While budget travel is synonymous with backpacking, flashpacking is more associated with luxury travel.

The heart of flashpacking is still to travel the world for an extended but finite period of time.
