One of the fun things to do while traveling is to try new and exotic foods. Here is a listing of the 10 top travel destinations and some of the food choices there that you won’t want to miss:
1. U.S. Virgin Islands
Fungi is a salted cornmeal dumpling served with fish or other meats. You could try eating some Fungi with Callaloo soup. It’s made from a variety of green veggies like spinach, as well as hot pepper, spices, meat, fish and onions. Some say it tastes similar to gumbo. You could also try foods like Conch fritters, which is a type of seafood cut into strips and deep-fried with batter. Served up with a spicy sauce, it is great as an appetizer.
2. Chicago, Illinois
One thing you can’t miss in Chicago is their famous deep dish pizza. It’s nearly four inches thick and can have all sorts of delicious toppings, sauce and cheese. Try the famous Uno restaurant or any number of other places. Chicago is also famous for hot dogs complete with mustard, onions, relish, tomatoes, pickles, celery salt and hot peppers. Or, if you prefer, try an Italian beef sandwich with juicy beef sauce, mushrooms and green peppers.

Sushi is one thing that many people are glad Japan introduced to the world. It is rice rolled up and served with various kinds of seafood, and it can be either cooked or raw. They are also famous for different kinds of rice dishes like donburi, mix of rice and savory meats and toppings. Japan is also famous for its hot wasabi and its rice wine, sake.
4. Paris, France
When in France, try some Ratatouille, which is a mix of stewed vegetables. Eat it with some delicious French bread called a baguette, which is a crispy roll. Then, you may want to finish with a dessert of yummy chocolate mousse.

There are plenty of great things to try in Greece. When in Mexico don’t miss the traditional tamales, which is dough wrapped in corn husks and filled with various kinds of spiced meats, or maybe you would prefer some enchiladas made with spicy chicken or beef, along with some spicy bean and taco soup. For dessert, try a sweet doughy Sopapilla served with honey.
8. South Korea
Kimchi is a traditional meal in Korea made of fermented cabbage, radishes, cucumbers, scallions, onions, fish sauce, ginger, and brine. For the main course you can try some steamed eel or squid or perhaps you would like to try dumpling or codfish soup and then some green tea ice cream for dessert.

Russians are famous for Borscht, beet soup served either hot or cold. Caviar served with blini is also an expensive, but popular choice. This is fish eggs served with bits of a special kind of bread.
10. New Orleans, Louisiana
Gumbo is one of the famous foods in New Orleans. It is a spicy soup complete with poultry, fish, pork, peppers, onions and more that is served over rice. You can also try spicy alligator or some sweet powdered sugar doughnuts called beignets.
