San Fransisco is famous for its erratic and steep hills, but this Cow Hollow street is perhaps the most unique. Considered one of the most crookedest legitimate roads in the world, built in 1922. Lombard Street was actually designed out of necessity to overcome the steep 27% grade where most vehicles could barely climb and even dangerous for backpacking. While most famous streets are only known because of what or where those roads lead to, Lombard Street is famous for the actual street.
