Anyone who visits New York will undoubtedly see a number of these tall buildings, but there are a few that particularly stand out as favourite tourist destinations. Below is an informative guide to some of the best skyscrapers in New York City that you don’t want to miss out on if you’re in town!

The Empire State Building is America’s 3rd tallest building, and the 22nd tallest in the entire world. Since the collapse of the World Trade Centre towers in 2001, the Empire State Building has stood as New York City’s tallest skyscraper.

This incredible building has one of the best outdoor observatories in the world, and is thought to have been visited by over 110 million people. It is a very popular tourist attraction and a must-visit while in New York. The 86th floor observatory offers a 360 degree view of New York City. You can also go even further up to the 102nd floor’s observation deck it you wish, although that one is completely enclosed and will cost a little extra.

Also known as the ‘Times Tower’ this is the 8th tallest building in the USA. It is home to the New York Times Company, who publishes The New York Times, The Boston Globe, and the International Herald Tribune amongst other newspapers.

Although you cannot really go into this building given it is a place of work for thousands of people and not geared towards tourists, it is incredible just to view from the outside. The sheer height of the building is breath-taking and The New York Times building has featured in many American box office hit films.

The World Trade Centre Complex is part of the rebuilding of the World Trade Centre site and parts of it are still under construction.
