China’s answer to North America’s Manhattan. Hong Kong, “Where the East meets the West” is one of the most densely populated cities in the world with the most skyscrapers in the world at a staggering 7,650 at last count. The name literally means “fragrant harbor” in Cantonese and rightfully so. Due to the significant Western influences and economy, English is an official language which makes it very backpacker and travel friendly.
